Wizz Air pets on board? No

A policy with no exceptions

Unlike Ryanair and easyJet, which have restrictive but workable rules, Wizz Air offers no way to carry dogs and cats at all: there is no pet fee, no weight limit, no hold option. The airline simply does not accept them.

This applies across the whole network, including routes to Central and Eastern Europe where Wizz Air is often the only direct carrier.

Guide and assistance dogs

Certified guide and assistance dogs travel free of charge in the cabin for disabled passengers, on flights within the European Union and from EU countries to non-EU destinations. Only one dog is accepted per flight and it cannot occupy a seat.

Declare it during booking and send the paperwork — the certificate proving the dog is a certified assistance dog, plus documentation required by the countries you travel to and from — at least 48 hours before departure to specialassistance@wizzair.com.

Emotional support animals do not fall into this category and are not accepted.

What to do if only Wizz Air flies your route

This happens often on routes to Romania, Hungary, Poland, Albania and Georgia. Three options remain: look for a connecting itinerary with a pet-friendly airline, arrange cargo transport through a specialist agent, or consider train and ferry over medium distances.

Before giving up, check whether the same airport pair is also served by a pet-friendly carrier on an indirect flight: it often is, and it costs less than cargo.
