The 10 kg limit includes everything
The dog is not weighed alone: the carrier and accessories count too. The container must be approved, non-rigid and stay closed from boarding until arrival in the terminal. The animal cannot leave it during the flight.
Volotea accepts only small dogs and cats at least eight weeks old. Each passenger may take one, and no more than five are accepted on the aircraft, so availability must be checked when adding the service.
Cost and booking
The advertised price starts at €39.99 each way and varies by booking channel and timing. Adding the pet early matters for both price and the five-animal flight limit.
The passenger ticket does not automatically reserve a pet space. Before payment, check the service is available on the route, add the animal to the booking and keep the confirmation with the health documents.
No service on UK, Ireland and Malta routes
Volotea does not provide its pet service on flights to or from the United Kingdom, Ireland or Malta. The block applies even when weight and carrier fit perfectly: the route, not the dog, makes the trip ineligible.
There is no hold service on ordinary routes. The Italian page notes a specific exception on certain territorial-continuity routes; it must be checked case by case and does not extend to the rest of the network.

Experiences from people who flew Volotea
We have no verified stories for this airline yet. If you have flown with your dog or cat, tell us how it went: we only publish real, moderated experiences, and every story helps someone deciding right now. The others are in our experience archive.
The pet space is separate from your ticket and limited per flight. Check availability, fees and documents on the airline's website before paying: a purchased ticket does not guarantee your pet gets on board.
