The index measures how easy it is to make an informed decision: policy clarity, verification date, weight, dimensions and fee completeness, official sourcing and booking guidance.
It is reproducible and separate from a generic pet-friendly ranking. An airline may accept pets but explain the process poorly. A visible methodology makes the index useful and open to scrutiny.

How the score is calculated
40% clarity, 25% freshness, 20% completeness of weight/dimensions/fees and 15% booking transparency. It does not measure safety or flight quality.
A reproducible formula
The Transparency Index rewards the ability to make an informed decision: policy clarity, verification freshness, completeness of weight, dimensions and fees, and transparency of the booking process. The same formula applies to every airline.
